The River Hill Band Program has events through the year that include younger band students who are future members of the River Hill High School Band.
Marching Band Future Hawks Night
Friday, September 20, 2024
Future River Hill band students who are currently in grades 5-8 are invited to participate in Future Hawks Night with the RHHS Marching Band. The students will warm up with the marching band and march with the band to the football stadium. They will sit in the stands with the marching band during the first half of the football game, and will play the fight song in the when the River Hill football team scores. They will watch the River Hill Marching Band Halftime Show, and will the join their parent(s) for the rest of the game.
Winter Concert Future Hawks Night
late December
Future River Hill band students who are currently in grades 7-8 are invited to perform on the RHHS Band Winter Concert. The students will receive a music selection to prepare on their own, will attend a rehearsal with the RHHS Band, and will be invited on stage to play the piece on the Winter Concert.
Auditions for Current 8th Grade Students
mid-February
Placement auditions will be held for River Hill Incoming 9th grade students in February. Students should look here for information starting January 1 to sign up for a time slot, and to download the audition music to have plenty of time to practice!
Multi-Generational Concert with Future Hawks
early June
Future River Hill band students who are currently in grades 7-8 are invited to participate in the Multi-Generational Concert with the RHHS Band and RHHS Band Alumni. The students will receive a music selection to rehearse on their own, will attend a rehearsal with the RHHS Band, and will be invited on stage to play the piece with the band.
